The piece in question, by world renowned artist Jackson Pollock, appears to have paints that did not exist at the time of Pollock's death in 1956. Clearly not worth $17 million, then.
I wonder.
If I set out to fake a painting, I would be sure to use materials that existed at the time.
I would also think that, since artists are always experimenting with new materials, Pollack may have found a new ink formula to try, or even made it himself.
