Wife didn't have to tell husband she had AIDS before marrying him, rules court | Mail Online

Wow. Unbelievable.

A husband whose wife failed to tell him she had AIDS before they wed has lost his bid to have the marriage annulled.
In a landmark case, the Family Court of Australia said the wife's failure to inform him of her condition did not negate the husband's consent to marriage.
The court heard that the wife was in her 30s when she was diagnosed with AIDS in 2006. And the husband, who is in his 50s, said he would never have married her if he'd known about her condition.

Clearly the guy is old fashioned, so there was no hanky panky prior to marriage, as it would have been illegal for her to have sex and not reveal she has AIDS. And now he can't have sex with her for fear of infection, but if he wants out, he loses half of his stuff. A complete and total fraud.

And then people have the nerve to wonder why I support men's rights groups.

I have a feeling if the roles were reversed, she not only would have won the annulment, but he'd be sitting in jail.

This is absurd and the "lady" should be ashamed. What selfish and irresponsible behavior.

Thing is, she got what she wanted, and if the guy wants out, he gets to lose half his stuff. A blatant fraud, supported by the legal system.

It sounds like a pretty phoney marriage from the start and the article said a phoney marriage can be annulled.

I assume this was a short-term marriage, so why should she get any of his assets from before the marriage? Shouldn't the property division only be what was made during the marriage?

In theory. And if she's not financially well off, he'd owe spousal support as well.

This is really outrageous. I mean, it really is. I can't imagine the type of person who has no conscience about screwing someone over in this manner.
