The story said 700yrds away. The dummies usually go to the desert for this nonsense. Unclear why they didn't this time around.

Heaven forbid anyone infringe upon mythbusters rights to fire cannons without fringe morons from NRA shrieking like girls the sky is falling and the 2nd amendment is being dismantled. But heck, it sells lots of guns creating mass hysteria & being paid full time to guard what is every citizens responsibility to guard/ uphold is a tin foil indentikit. How many trillions upon trillions funneled to NRA for how long 'defending' my right to have a trident submarine floating in the moat around my home?

Why is there a firing range so close to a residential neighborhood. Everybody involved are complete idiots.

As if people are shocked cannonballs are dangerous. So it's not a myth.
Ask the builders seeing as the range was there before the homes where built. Why were they allowed to build a residential area so close?

This is truly one of those City-Data WTF-moments.

Since the Obama administration began, socialists have been free to shoot cannonballs at hardworking capitalists. This is typical of Ben Bernanke and his big labor buddies.

Not saying I wish that upon mythbusters, but It's so surreal on the hypocrisy of the left.

Same thing with FastandFurious. Look the other way if you have a D next to your name or are a Hollywood celeb, but if your just an average Joe Republican and you want to own a BB gun to target shoot in your backyard, your demonized by the left.
Really? An accident on a television show is the liberals fault? Is that the best you can do?

Probably should have did it in the desert - of which I am sure Southern Cali has no shortage of. The military reserve base is probably good for many kinds of tests. Long range projectile shooting of large round rolling balls might not be its best use, in retrospect.

I'm sure they are generally professional in most of their tests, but I do agree there is often both a legal, as well as public relations, double standard with these kinds of things. Whatever lesson people want to take away from this, I leave that up to you, but next time this kind of thing happens to an "Average Joe," you need to seriously ask yourself if you are holding the Average Joe to a heightened standard in comparison to when bigger organizations (including gov't) does such things. Or conversely, if we hold bigger organizations to a lesser standard because we are biased into thinking that they are more responsible people simply by virtue of the fact that they are members of a larger entity than lone John Q Public.
