My thoughts EXACTLY.

Reagan had scandal after scandal, gave amnesty to criminals who crossed into our country by disobeying our laws, deregulated everything he could to make it easier for corporate management to raid, rape and pillage everything...he gave us ALL of the problems we now have within the middle east,Saddam was his BFF,he beat the working class into the dirt and yet complete moronic idiots ignore this and buy into some bullshyte RWNJ belief that he was the second coming...chances are he's burning in hell as we speak and I don't personally know anyone who cares one way or another whether he is or not, myself included.....he made Nixon look like a choirboy.

Can you tell me about this "big cushy pension"? When I retire after 25 years of service, based on my projected "high 3" of, let's say $100,000 per year, according to my retirement calculator, my big cushy pension is going to be $20,000 annually. Now remember, I *have* contributed some funds toward that pension. I also have a 401K like most contractors have and, yes, it does get matching. No idea what that will work out to be, but I did work private sector for over 20 years and did roll my 401K into the federal 401K (TSP). It's not any better with the fed than at my private company. Oh, and I'm not being given that company stock anymore.

So, if there is a big cushy pension, please direct me toward it because I think they didn't tell me about it.

Not saying that Reagan was bad, but that alone doesn't "prove" anything.

Well, if you consider that our military has been slashed over the last 20 years, that is no real significant number. In fact it shows that the government is growing.

People work 32 years for the federal government and retire at age 52... and draw the same benefits (with regular increases) until they die. That's a big cushy pension, even more so when you consider that private pension plans generally won't allow you to retire until age 62 (or 65 as most of them were changed later).

Number of Government Employees

and

Total Government Employment Since 1962

Under the leadership of Dear Leader the number of Federal employees climbed from 4.206 million in 2008 to 4.443 million in 2010.

What we need to look our for is the total of all government employees that includes local, state and federal.

From 2008 the total number of federal, state and local employees was 19.734 million.

2008 US Population (est) - 304.059 million

One in 15.4 people in the US work for government.

But it gets worse, with 110 million people working in the US there is one government employee for every 5.57 people working.... right now it takes four and a half workers to support one produce nothing parasite.

The number of government workers needs to be cut by at least two thirds.

But at least we can be thankful we're not getting all the government we are paying for.
So soldiers, cops, teachers, firemen, nasa engineers, park rangers, judges, prosecutors, scientists, etc. are produce nothing parasites?

Guess who invented the internet...

Reagan didn't triple it. Congress controls the spending. And the (Democrat-controlled) Congress during the Reagan era spent, on average, 2.8% more than Reagan asked for and 24.5% over an 8-year period.
