Your tax dollars at work: The insanity of Sound Transit - The Dori Monson Show - MyNorthwest.com

Click link to see pics.

A lovely example of the civic beauty of gov't artwork. It's a beautiful rooftop garden on top of a temporary construction trailer, executed at the cost of only $11,000. From Sound transit, a mass transit agency here.

Reported by local talk host Dori Monson.

What a sad joke! See for yourself in the attached photos. The location is the corner of East C St. and East 26th St. I thought you'd get a kick out of it."
Washington state has a 'one percent for art' law that requires that 1 pct of spending on projects be devoted to art. We've gotten some interesting results from this law over the years.

This sort of thing is sadly very common.

It's very common for this area.

Also very common is the government consistently asking us to allow higher license plate fees or other taxes to help make up for Sound Transit shortfalls.

Sound Transit and the state employees' union is so entrenched in our government up here that we literally have no power to stop them and their ridiculous expenditures.
