I used to toss my pets over into his backyard too when they died but he got mad about that especially when he found a pot bellied pig lying there.

I see my conservative friends are sticking up for RAMPANT LAWLESSNESS! Putting out trash cans 1/2 hr early!

A few years ago the city of Seattle hatched a plan to send out teams of garbage can inspectors. The plan was to fine people who did not properly separate recycling. The plan must have been shelved, because I can't find anything about it now.

Personally, I would rather see government money go towards stopping violent crimes than policing whether or not people throw away used motor oil.

But then again, I care more about people's safety than the environment. Maybe this makes me a terrible person.

If you care about people so much you wouldn't want motor oil thrown in a places where it can seep into the ground water and end up in your tap. What happens to the environment IS about people issues.

Sorry, still no sympathy from me. I can buy a britta filter. There is not much I can do about the guy who is in critical care because he was mugged and knifed a week ago when leaving the post office.

It's not an either/or choice. We're allowed to care about the environment AND public safety at the same time.

I am simply stating that I would rather the cop who wrote this ticket for having trash out early be spending that same time and effort working against gang violence, or something similar.

So putting out your garbage 1/2 hour early is an environmental hazard ?
And it's winter so not like the garbage is going to stink to the high heavens in 1/2 hour.
