I can not remember which poster said this but they were absolutely right. We point the finger form right to left, we know both parties are corrupt, and corporations and the banksters control both. But we forget to point the finger at ourselves, who is responsible for all the corruption in DC ? We are, we keep sending the incumbents back in full force.
Who is responsible for corporatism? we are. If you want to see the problem go to a mirror and point at your self. The people are just as guilty as the leaders that they put there year after year, as Sam Barrow says because we are stupid.

Lightbulb Why do you guys put so much stock in politics and elected offcials?

Short answer:

Because electing the wrong officials results in them doing things like starting stupid costly wars and plunging the world economy into deep recession.

People have been "engineered" to ask and look for govt to give permission for everything, so it is natural to look there for many.

As far as the D and R game that again is just a natural extension of identity and tribalism that is being used to keep people occupied and ineffective.

As for "taking stock in politics", hey look at the derivative trading on elections. Gives it a whole new perspective.
