No different from someone at your laundry doing the same thing, or leaving a bag alone in a taxi, etc.

Not saying its right, it most definitely was wrong, but the fact that they were an TSA agent has little sway over my like or dislike of them. And I am no fan of the TSA.

As far as the 6 months in jail, thats pretty standard for a first time felon with no priors. They have to keep all of the drug criminals locked up due to mandatory minimum sentences.

This is the TOP 10 list of busts this year on the TSA Blog... reptiles and turtles is #10 and two throwing knives at #4 They list a "loaded .38" at #2 but follow up with "1200 firearms" at #3 which apparently weren't loaded.

The TSA costs $2,400,000,000 per year. That's about $5,000,000 for each firearm they kept off planes. Keep in mind one (1) was loaded. They treat every citizen as a criminal, force us to be radiated, grope children and women and then have the nerve to post the weakest list of TOP BUSTS! What a joke!!!

Any TSA employee found guilty of using his/her position to commit a crime should be sentenced to the maximum time/fine for that crime (mandatory).
