Does it matter if the document used to verify his birth is bogus? Yes. I'd be stunned if it turned out to be, and would support his removal from office if it fraudulently made him out to be a citizen at birth but he wasn't. This is fantasy, though, but in this fantasy, yes, it would matter.
Does it matter if it is legitimate? No. It never mattered to me before that prior presidents had legitimate birth certificates, it doesn't matter to me now that Obama is president, with a legitimate birth certificate.
You are playing semantics. It's ridiculous not to take the basic meaning of something, so simple, and spin it into endless levels of meaning, which only serves your need to repeat yourself.

Somehow I had the notion that keeping the poll anon would encourage honesty. Rather optimistic of me I suppose.
There seems to be a resurgence of birther threads on CD. I thought having a poll to gauge opinion rather than bantering about it might give some insight. With this said, there are just two simple answers, yes or no.
Yes, forging such a document would nullify his ability to be President and would also be a Federal offence and felony I would think.
That said, his dad was not a US citizen at the time of Obama's birth which actually is what should have stopped his eligibility. This other stuff is just Watergate type of stuff.

Would you support him if he didn't qualify constitutionally?
Yes it matters, and he is a natural-citizen born in Hawaii, and he has lived in the United States for at least 14 years before presidency. Never really crossed my mind of the possibility that his BC is fake or nonexistent. His father is irrelevant in the birther argument. Only one American parent is required, and in Barack's case, his mother(plays more in his favor because it is the woman who carries the child). And since it is clear that his mother was a full American for at least 5 years prior to his birth, his legitimacy is a done deal. In the United States, What is a Natural Born Citizen?
Only to people that cared about the Constitution, the rule of law. Only people that cared about being LIED to and DUPED into voting for a man that was NOT eligible to be POTUS.
The rest? No, they would support him regardless.
So, it doesn't matter to you birthers that his BC is genuine. You'll go on hating regardless.
This pole should be taken as "mattering to you", not if it matters in the overall scheme of things.
My gripe, about both sides, is the lack of lucidity when it comes to the argument. The uber left doesn't seem to care if Obama is legally able to be the POTUS, one way or the other. The extreme right seem not to mind trampling the constitution while holding it up. This is why I created a clear and concise YES/NO pole to find out what your PERSONAL opinion is.
I voted Yes because it is important to me that he be constitutionally eligible for the office. If not the Constitution is destroyed and maybe that is what he and his world wanted in the beginning.
it isnt a rash of threads. its one person posting all day about it and creating thread after thread.
