29 is also a bit young to think this up all on his own.
He worked at a place that had connections. Could have been used by higher ups. We'll have to wait to see if he squeals.

Edwards now works for LINK Strategies (http://www.linkstrategies.com/index.html - broken link), a Democratic consulting firm with extraordinarily close ties to Iowa Democrat Tom Harkin. Its principal, Jeff Link, has served as Harkin’s campaign manager and chief of staff. Link, too, is a former Obama staffer. The LINK Strategies web site says that Jeff Link “served as a media consultant to the Obama for President Campaign, coordinating branding, all paid media and polling in 25 states, including seven battleground states (VA, NC, FL, CO, NM, NV, MT)….”

Interestingly, on June 24, the same day as Zach Edwards alleged crime, Under the Golden Dome, a blog connected to Iowa Democrats, launched a three-part series of articles critical of Matt Schultz. The blog alleged that a batch of emails from Schultz’s office “raise some serious questions about his ability to remain independent and ensure election integrity”.
From a "tipster". Now, I wonder who the "tipster" was?

Just 15 days earlier, on June 9, the Iowa Democratic Party filed an ethics complaint against Schultz, claiming the Secretary of State of used public resources to campaign against presidential hopeful Jon Huntsman.
Connecting the dots...it appear the democrat party might have been in league with this guy.

Isn't it amazing how the Left/dems just can't STAND to LOSE elections?

I don't think it's the entire party..more than likely one or two or a handful of those that would stoop to criminal activity.

Political consultants quickly fire arrested man | The Des Moines Register | DesMoinesRegister.com

Quote:
In addition, Zach Edwards, 29, was employed until Friday by a local political consulting firm well connected to Iowa Democrats.

Edwards had been employed since late 2008 as director of new media for Link Strategies, a Des Moines political consulting firm, with ties to Iowa Democrats, including U.S. Senator Tom Harkin.
Hmmmm......

Are we SURE this guy was working on his own?

Quote:
LINK Strategies is a Democratic lobbying , campaign consulting, opposition research and press shop. It was founded by Jeff Link who has been around the block as a Democratic operative who was formerly U.S. Senator Tom Harkin‘s (D-IA/Bahamas) chief of staff. Harkin is also a client of his. Former U.S. Senator and Presidential Candidate John Edwards (D-Soon to Be In Prison) worked with him on his 2004 campaign. They also ran a press shop for former Democratic Iowa Governors Tom Vilsack and Chet Culver.
In the original report, there is "no other details" reported by the Register, but of course, they knew all along this guy's ties to obama and Iowa democrats.
