This was in your article...........Most of Planned Parenthood's services are related to the choice to be sexually active---contraception, STD screening and treatment, cervical cancer screening---making it easy to write off those services as unnecessary if you follow the strict abstinence-only prescription the Christian right has for women.

If Christians are completely against sex, why do Mormons and Catholics, have so, many children. Their not against sex, it's the act of abortion that this group provides.

Girl's can go in as young as 15, possibly younger, and have an abortion done, without anyone in her family, knowing she is there. How would you like to know, your daughter was having an abortion without you knowing where she was? What if she died from it? They tell you, you don't have to tell your parents.

People's choice's, shouldn't cost the taxpayer and if the Komen Foundation chooses to defund, that is their choice also.

By the way, I hate PINK!!!

How about this for a motive to pull the funding:

Many of Komen's critics Wednesday noted that Karen Handel, who manages the group's public policy arm, ran for governor of Georgia as a Republican in 2010 and had pledged to take away Planned Parenthood's state funding... Handel joined Komen in 2011 as senior vice president of public policy.

And only 3 per cent of what Planned Parenthood does concerns abortions and none of that is allowed to be helped with tax dollars.

Komen's latest Annual Financial Statement is pretty interesting, considering this $700 thousand funding dispute:

Komen Expenses:

Salaries and Benefits - $50.7 million
Consultant Fees - $37.7 million

Ridiculous. I've donated to the foundation for a number of years until I read about their bully tactics on smaller breast cancer charities (suing them for using "for the cure" when it wasn't copywritten for one thing) or their commercialization of a devastating disease. This is totally politically motivated, misguided garbage and yet another way for the hypocritical moral police to impose on people's personal sex lives. Abortions are a small percentage of what Planned Parenthood does, but yet again, the poor and undereducated are used as a scapegoat and led to the wolves.

Just another example of how America is rapidly becoming a banana republic and too many people don't even realize it.
Right, they also like to vaccinate without parental permission.

What about PP's expenses?

Komen doesn't owe PP anything. Never has and never will.

Just a fact.

Potential contributors may find it interesting, especially in light of this action by the Komen Foundation.

I don't see the problem here. If SGK wants to sever its relationship with PP, then so be it.

PP will be fine. It's not that much money in the big scheme of things. They will make it up.
I think that PP has a solid reputation among the majority of Americans who see them as a necessary cog in our health care system.

SGK has come under a lot of scrutiny and criticism for years. I know many a breast cancer survivor who are 100% against them. Complaints against SGK aren't knew and this just adds on more bad PR to their quickly tarnishing reputation
