A U.S. Marine was killed in a rocket attack by ISIS on a base at Makhmur in northern Iraq, the Pentagon said Saturday.
Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook confirmed the death in a statement. He said the Marine was "providing force protection fire support at a recently established coalition fire base near Makhmur in northern Iraq."
There will now be additional troops deployed to Iraq....
Who would have thought? Obama rushed the withdrawal of US troops in Iraq to appease his voters. In my opinion , he rushed too fast. Now he is paying the price for his poor decisions. Wasn't he the one that said , no boots on the ground?
Did this event just remind you that we've had boots on the ground in Iraq for 13 years now? I'm not minimizing the marine's death, but everyone knew from day one what these kinds of wars are all about. They are long, complicated, and seemingly with no end in sight. That's how they always go.
R.I.P brave marine.

We should have left, yes. It's for the people of Iraq to sort out. Do you think our presence makes it better?
Our President has PROMISED we have "no boots on the ground" in Iraq.
Now we have a US Marine killed and other wounded? Looks like somebody was not telling the US Citizens the truth.

The country would become a power vacuum. Chances would be almost certain that the next dictator would be 110% anti American. The bloodshed that would occur as people fight for that top spot would be unimaginable. Nobody wants to see more bloodshed. Hence, the well supported puppet government.

What part of "none of our business" don't you understand?
You can always join up as a mercenary if you feel so strongly about "helping" Iraqis
