The largest Catholic university in the nation has admitted to providing contraception coverage as part of its health care benefit package, further undermining the GOP’s claims that Obama’s regulation requiring insurers and employers to offer reproductive health benefits represents and “unprecedented” war against religion. The rule — which exempts houses of worship and nonprofits that primarily employ and serve people of faith from providing contraception coverage — mirrors existing requirements in six states.

Further proof that the GOP is so desperate that they need to dredge up the wedge issues. They got nothin'!!!

Its going to be a one degree of separation thing.

The Catholic church will pay for your insurance. Then the insurance, that they pay for mind you, will find another insurance company to pay for the contraception.

And the Obama administration will walk away looking good, Republicans will walk away looking like social idiots. Great politics. I fear what the precedent will set forth when a Republican wins the white house next time.

Big difference in offering contraceptives by choice and being forced by government. I thought the lefties were all for choice and against forced compliance with (fill in the blank)? I guess that only applies to things they want.
Careful what you wish for. Continuing to hand over more and more power to the government will come back to bite you when the power shifts to the "other party"!!! It will happen at some point in the future.

Asking a BUSINESS to follow the laws that other BUSINESSES have to follow is big government?

Then GOOD FOR BIG GOVERNMENT....and screw ANY business that tries to skirt the law AND discrimnate against women.....

Not that "conservatives" need to be in a majority to push their whims. They operate on emotions (religion is ALWAYS a great driver to that effect). It is how social movements take ground in third world countries, as well as in developed.

Now about that being careful part... replace Catholicism with Islam, and the issue of contraception with Sharia. And the very same "conservatives" who are speaking aloud of government trying to dictate over religion would be asking the government to outlaw Sharia. That is the reality, of how their brains work.
