The single largest donor to the super PAC supporting Rick Santorum’s presidential bid shocked MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell in an interview on Thursday when he suggested a novel approach to contraception on Thursday.
Foster Friess, the 71 year old Wyoming multi-millionaire offered this retort when Mitchell pressed him about whether he agreed with Santorum’s stance on contraception.
“Back in my days, they used Bayer aspirin for contraceptives,” Friess said. “The gals put it between their knees and it wasn’t that costly.”
What, that abstinence (a.k.a. woman keeping her legs shut/knees together) prevents pregancy? No, it is a method which has been around a very long time. Suprised the OP has never heard of it.
Really???? Bayer Aspirin. Aspirin causes blood clots and back in the 40's and 50's it was said that young girls who got pregnant out of wedlock would take aspirin to cause a miscarriage, in other words self abortion. Very interesting he would use that anology at his age.

Aspirin reduces the incidence of blood clots, it doesn't cause them.Taking enough aspirin to cause an abortion (if that is even a possible consequence) would kill mom too.
It feeds the fantasy that women get pregnant by themselves. Ever heard of the expression, keep it in your pants?
Birth control is the RESPONSIBILITY of both parties, not just the female side.
At the end of the act it is the woman who gets pregnant; so, it is up to enforce that responsiblity before participating with her partner; or, just say no. With the power to conceive new life also comes great personal responsibility.

I stand corrected, should have said blood thinner and can cause premature miscarriage. A nurse at my doctors office would always warn women away from asprin and tell the story of what it was used for back in her day. Thats why I found it strange that someone of his age would make that statement.
