What a relief it was to find that your link ws to a 2007 article and not one written to support the Obamas about forcing Catholics and then insurance companies when the Catholics failed to back down to hand out this kind of thing for women.
I heard the Obama woman, Kathleen Sebelius talking to a congressional committee and she outright told the questioner that what they were looking to do was hold down population growth and this method would actually save money. I get to thinking that these people really do want to have less normal growth of population and they have thrown that into the discussion. Why do they want that so bad?
I heard that too. That woman is incredibly stupid. But the whole idea she is putting forth is very sinister. Next thing you know, we will be limiting family size, mandated by the government!
Let's remember what started this whole discussion of birth control — an attack by the Obama administration on the First Amendment.
This issue has not been raised because anyone is trying to deny birth control to women. No one has suggested it. But, Obama decided it should be provided free as part of health insurance. Why?
For the President to mandate that insurers provide anything (let alone, free) is a violation of the Constitution. He does not have that authority. But he is assuming it for himself. He is becoming a dictator.
Let the insurance companies pay for those uses for that pill but don't force them to provide the morning after pills or those used for population control. This all started when our President and his people notified Catholics that they had to do these things although it was against their teachings. Don't you see what is actually going on here?
Want to guess the name of one of the 28 states that were already doing this?
It starts with Mass (how very Catholic), and ends with achusetts. And it's enforced as part of a group of medical insurance laws named after some dude that's running for President.

How are you going to do that? Have the women or their doctors fill out affidavits?
Don't YOU see what is actually going on here? It's an attempt to roll back the clock 60 years. This is not about protecting the Catholic Church's right to practice religion the way it wants to. This is about limiting access to women's BC so that they'll only have sex to create babies. God forbid a woman wait to start a family, or limit the size of her family, or have any say in her own private life.
Let's get this straight......Viagra enables a man to get an erection.....it does not cure the medical problem that is preventing him from getting an erection in the first place.
Viagra does not cure or treat heart disease, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, etc.
So......Viagra is used purely for recreational purposes.....a man is not going to die or get sick from not getting an erection.....he may, however, die from the physical condition that is preventing him from getting an erection.
Viagra does not fix a medical problem, Viagra pills are so men can **** whoever and whenever they want.
Your argument is right and wrong. You are right about everything except for the fact that this is not a man vs. woman thing. It's 100 percent about the unnatural blocking of a woman getting pregnant.
The argument should be that since Birth Control has other benefits beyond a woman's ability to get pregnant then it should be allowed in those situations only. The Catholic Church lifted their ban on rubbers in the case where it prevented disease. That's the argument that needs to be made.
and women won't die from NOT taking BC pills either. Get it? Viagra fixes a physical problem, BC pills are so women can **** whoever and whenever they want.
So, I have to assume that single men are NEVER given a prescription for viagra, correct?
1) I can understand why religious organizations are balking at this. I personally find it stupid but that is their position based upon their faith.
2) I am mightily amused by the gals talking about being all "progressive" and whatnot and then writing off viagra as just something for the men. Honestly, my SO would be EVERY bit as interested in getting me viagra if I needed it as I would. Are you gals from the victorian era or something where sex is an unpleasant chore for the woman? Wierdly ironic.
3) Birth control as many have pointed out has a number of legitimate medical applications. On this basis alone I feel it should be covered in the health plans.
4) Many of you want religion out of the government.....but you want government in the religion. (and of course some here are the exact opposite.) Just food for thought. So many seem to have personalized this entire argument where I think it doesn't need to be.
Rock hard erections just make more precious babies. Who cares about money as long as there are babies!
You need to send this post to our Secretary of HHS since she said today to a group of Congress people that it is lowering the numbers of babies they are aiming at. Maybe you could help her see the truth.
Can't rep you enough for bringing this up, OP! My thoughts exactly after I heard Rush Limbaugh's controversial comments during the evening news last night.
I bet those hard-core conservative right-wingers have no complaints about Viagra being covered.
