Good point Buzzards27!

No doubt this dramatic decline of participation in the workforce is the direct result of millions of women quitting their jobs to bake cookies and attend PTA meetings with June Cleaver.

[quote=buzzards27;23057665]As late as March of 1983 the participation rate was at 63.7%...

Notice the participation rate began to fall when Bush II took office...

...then it nosedives when Bummer takes office and continues declining at a much higher rate.

When "W" took office the rate was 67.2%, down 0.1% from its all time high of 67.3%.

When he left office, it was down to 65.7%, a decline of 1.5% over eight years.

Since Bummer took office, the rate has declined 2.0% in just three years and is continuing this much sharper decline.

Not sure where you're getting that from.

Bush averaged a 0.1875% decline per year.

One year ago the number was 64.2% and today it's 63.7%.

That's a 0.5% drop in participation in one year or about three times the Bush average.

The year before that it was 0.6% and 0.9% the year before that.

It is not good, and i am not lying. 9 people from one place of employment were just let go, a mananger that has been with the company for over 12 years, was also let go. She is so upset with the other eight let go. This was from one place of employment.

I know people also whose hours have been greatly reduced. And people working double loads. This is a good economy, does not look that way to me.

Some very established firms, are also letting people go, it is actually getting darn scary out there. And this is some of that Chagne brought onto us from Obama, which was suppose to bring us Hope and Good Change.

I want the number of all unemployed who have actually stopped looking, and cannot find a job.

Ahh, you do know that the economy is growing right? Iran has always been a big problem. Why are you whining about Obama?

Perphaps you should actually look at GDP growth before you start talking about the economy not getting better.

Add to that percentage the people in this country that are massively underemployed, and that number may well exceed 30%. These are the numbers liberals don't want people to see. It sounds much better when the liberal friendly media keeps the percentage count hovering around 8%.
