"Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe," Dr Stephen Chu (now Sec. of Energy) - Wall Street Journal interview 9/08

Obama has found the way to do exactly that. If you want much higher gas prices, like $7 to $8 a gallon, vote for Obama.

One minute RWNJs scream, "Obama is ruining the fossil fuel industry!"

They next minute they scream, "Obama's in bed with the fossil fuel industry!"

And they fail to recognize their cognitive dissonance.

What's "cognitive dissonance?" you ask...

He stated this during the 08 campaign. I remember thinking to myself that the american people were not going to vote for someone who would guarantee them higher energy costs, but I guess that message got lost in the campaign. I often wonder why McCain didn't seize upon those statements and run with them. However McCain was nothing more than Obama light.

Sheesh. "Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe," Dr Stephen Chu.

Is this quotation accurate, or not? Does it fairly reflect the views of an Obama Cabinet official or not?

It seems more deranged to suppose that when the desired outcome of the admiistration (higher gasoline prices) conflicts with what most Americans desire, there is no reason to question the leadership about its position.

President Obama recently explained that he was not against a rise in the price of gasoline, but would prefer it to be more gradual. To my knowledge, he has never given us a target date for when he believes the gasoline price in America should be at European levels.

Bootlicker.

You might call it success, I will call him being in touch with realities. Learn to deal with it.
