Its probably not illegal for a teacher to tell his students about his previous employment either, which would lead them into looking their teacher up on the web...
Yes, because him being in pornography means he's going to be showing off videos and telling kids to google him when they get home.

Just because things are legal doesn't mean they are right especially when it comes to children. This is not right. Holding teachers to a higher standard is a good thing.
Are you willing to pay them much higher salaries when you hold them to a 'higher standard'? just wondering how you get around that discrimination based on sexual preference?
Are you a teacher, or do you have young children in school?
Like they say, just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Brings to mind the teacher who recently was in the news for moving in with his former student the day she turned 18. Legal; but not right.
I don't think ex porn stars should be teaching. I have no issues with his sexual orientation -- but I do have issues that there are images of him having sex out there. High school kids are smart. They are all going to find them, show them around, make cracks about him inside the classroom and outside of it -- it's distracting. He chose to do porn. He should realize that that choice has limited some of his other options, teaching being one of them.

Ethical vs legal. Remember the government is telling us what is moral and what isn't.
If he isn't a child molester, whats the problem. Was he legally employed, or illegally employed?
What lesson are you teaching kids by denying his dream job? If you make any mistake in your life, even if its legal, you must pay for it for your entire life?
"A former gay porn actor and director who was fired for violating the Miami-Dade School Board's code of ethics has reportedly been cleared to pursue his teaching certificate again." "Shawn Loftis, 36, spent six years in gay pornography and owned his own company, World of Men, until he quit the industry in 2010. He then got a job as a substitute teacher at Nautilus Middle School in Miami Beach, but was later... fired for violating the Miami-Dade School Board's code of ethics and for gross immorality, NBCMiami.com reports."
Okay. I'll say it once again. Isn't it time to think about HomeSchooling?
This may not be such a good idea as the majority of child sexual abuse cases occur in the HOME and the defendant is a parent or close relative! Yes, teach your children well. Heh,heh, heh
