Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson says marijuana should be legalized and treated like alcohol because the government’s war on drugs has failed.

The outspoken evangelical Christian and host of “The 700 Club” on the Virginia Beach-based Christian Broadcasting Network he founded said the war on drugs is costing taxpayers billions of dollars. He said people should not be sent to prison for marijuana possession.
You know, when he leaves out the religious stuff, he can actually make sense. Story here (http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/pat-robertson-marijuana-should-be-treated-like-alcohol-says-war-on-drugs-has-failed/2012/03/08/gIQARikHzR_story.html - broken link).

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut. I think it's immoral that people are being prosecuted for consumption of possession of a God given plant with a ton of benefits!

Funny, some religious zealots will now agree that marijuana should be legalized because this man, no different from them, has said so;
Yet while still being oblivious to the fact that Marijuana is a natural plant put on this Earth by our creator which cannot be outlawed the same way an animal cannot be made illegal. Man was never intended to have such power.

Frankly, I think Pat Robertson's endorsement is only slightly less toxic to any cause than Fred Phelps' endorsement would be.

Pat must be sparking up in his old age. This is an odd endorsement -- however, I have heard that he was the officer in charge of keeping the liquor cabinet stocked during his brief stint in the Marines. So, I guess he's not a total killjoy. He's got that going for him. Oh yeah, remembering that also made me remember that his collegues said he used to grope the local women so badly it bordered on rape and made them uncomfortable. Man, I dislike this guy.
