What in your view is most responsible for this... in my view the single most important factor it the Standard American Diet / SAD. No one else currently eats as much junk: sugar, processed food and fat. The second most important factor imo is that the medical profession only seems to treat DISEASE, rather than preventing it.
Your view?

Yep, diet and exercise of this country has more to do with it than anything. Healthcare cannot cure laziness and a life full of bad diet choices.

But do people in other countries really live that much healthier lifestyles? Don't they smoke a lot more? If America had a more left-wing healthcare system than these other countries would you be blaming the shorter lifespans on the government rather than the people?

Stress. What other country has such a high rate of heart disease and other stress related disorders?

Americans do in fact have much higher rates of stress related illness-
that should be no surprise.

The healthiest rated state in the union, Minnesota, has one of the lowest percentages of citizens without health insurance, so that could clue you in on something.

That's it. Of course no one wants to hear that because that puts the responsibility on each individual. Can't have that now.
