Natural Gas is cheap, and is abundant in the United States.
Having been in the heating industry for 20 years I've seen this show before, it's cheap now because there is a glut of product. It's not going to stay nearly as cheap as it is now, people will be switching to it for heat, cars, power plants etc. That will eventually drive the prices back up. Keep in mind the price of NG was sky rocketing right along with everything else back in '07. The only difference now is a lot more supply plus we've had a very mild winter.
Having said that I'd agree NG cars will be very prevalent in the future but it's only part of the puzzle of becoming energy independent.

NG has a long upside to match the same cost per BTU as oil. It will be cheaper then oil for a long time, even with the current glut being slowly burned down (thought I bet that takes 5 years).
If Ford tried to sell through Walmart, Ford dealers nationwide would launch a class action lawsuit to block it.
What? Sell the Natural Gas at Walmart not the cars.
