This is the great orator squealing at a campaign rally..........
"It's been tried in our history and it hasn't worked," Obama said. "It didn't work when we tried it in the decade before the Great Depression. It didn't work when we tried it in the last decade. We just tried this. What they're peddling has been tried -- it did not work!""
How completely clueless is this guy's teleprompter??

The decade before the Great Depression was...the decade before the Great Depression. There is nothing factually wrong with the statement. It is also referred to as the "Roaring Twenties", but that is not its mandatory name, and there is nothing wrong per se with saying "the 1920s", "the 20s", "the decade before the Great Depression", or any other number of understandably-accurate statements.
None of this is to necessarily defend Obama's point, but this does raise another point: complaining about not calling the 1920s the "Roaring Twenties" is a useless ancillary exercise that completely misses the substance of the debate to be had - whether in agreement or disagreement - about what Obama is saying.
So just quit your whining - or at least find something substantive to whine about.

You can get to it by clicking the link at the bottom of the article, which will start a slide show about taxes over the last 90 years or so. Check out slides 9-12, and see what you think.
The "roaring 20s" was the sound of us punching the gas and shooting off a cliff. Hardly something we want to repeat, nor could we maintain it if we could.
All I can do is laugh at the swooners. It's gotten beyond pathetic the defense they throw up for the dunce in chief.
