I think that our Community Organizer needs to do less delegating. The Congress, like most Americans, can become confused over generalizations and broad overviews .. something Obama is pretty good at.
Being vague about something usually lends itself to interperetation. If Obama wants to win this round, he's going to have to come out with some specifics. Something he has yet to do.
All we have is a fleeting concept with regard to UHC .. and this is something that Americans are having trouble getting their minds wrapped around. This, and the many various versions of UHC floating around, will be the death nell for the UHC concept itself.

Agree that Americans certainly are having trouble with their minds.
But why would Obama be pushing only the proposed House bill? There isnt even a Senate proposal yet. He's answering questions and, I hope, helping to quell the crazy "kill grandma" hysterics -- a big time-wasting sidetrack that wouldnt have happened if people just would turn off the damn TV and force themselves to think and research independently.
He's begun fear mongering and hiding behind supporters so, yes, he's lost any hope of keeping his message intact. Now its just backroom deal making as susual.

It's not that he has lost control, it is that the issue overall has gotten out of control.
I would put money on that 99% of the people in this country have not read the bill or even a good chunk of it. They are just listening to the rumors and lies about it and feeding off that.
This entire issue has gone overboard.
The worst thing about it is that the bills havent even gotten through the house yet. They are a long way away from even being voted on. People act like this has been put into law already.

I spent about 8 days, in my off time, looking over, or otherwise reading (with the help of our business attorney), the most complete or currently accepted version of this UHC legislation/proposal ... "Fine", I said, "Now I've got somewhat of a handle on this".
Then, after all of the effort put into this, I find that what I read might be bargained away for something else, totally rewritten, or just scrapped altogether for someone elses version.
Put this all atop of Obama having wanted "the bill(s)" passed before August recess.
Do you see what I mean?
How can America get behind something that no one is really all too sure about?
How can the Congress, just pass this on a whim? When they themselves, not only have not read anything, but disagreements on what they haven't read are all over the board?
I'm also wondering if Obama is afraid to be pinned down on any one particular aspect of these bills if he were to be more specific about things. He acts as if someone might actually, one day, point the finger at him for something.
