Hundreds gathered at Yonge-Dundas square to partake in the yearly celebration that is 4/20. A cloud of thick smoke rose over the square at 4:20 p.m. as everyone (yup, even the wee teenagers) lit their joints and bongs...

Cool. I myself have never been a pot smoker, but whatever trips their trigger.
I"ve spent a good bit of time in Toronto. Just when I think I like the city, i'm reminded of the trashy streets and the obscene amount of graffiti. It's everywhere, as if littering and plastering your trademark on everything is a right of passage. I'm quite positive that city leaders view both with a sense of pride instead of disgust. If you've been to Toronto, you know what i'm talking about.
I'll bet you're jealous you don't live in California too.....
So what is political or controversial about this smoke-in celebration that has taken place on a yearly basis in a foreign country?
I'm not jealous of California. Obama continues to crack down on pot like crazy, ordering federal SWAT teams to raid and shut down the state's medical pot dispensaries with a Gestapo-like zealousness. Even though they are perfectly legal under California state law and in compliance with all state laws. Obama's DOJ apparently does not recognize or respect any state laws.

Federal opposition to state marijuana laws has been going on longer than just since Obama came into office.
I love it !
A thing like this will NEVER happen in this ****ed up country full of uptight Americans. Ive always loved Canada.

That's awesome. Good for Denver! It's good to see the cops being cool about it.
I don't know if I would ever try something like that in California though (smoking pot in public). The cops there aren't very nice at all. Even in supposedly liberal San Francisco.
