In huge parts of America, being intelligent is something that is looked down upon. Believing religion to be illogical superstition is looked down upon. Being logical, isn't it ignorant to hate Americans who excel in science and math because they don't believe a weird invisible man from 200 years ago is their savior? Do you think America is anti-intellectual?

I have to assume the bolded was done on purpose.

If not, I agree 100% with the above post.

Whoever thought that we would come to a place where people are mocked for getting a good education? And yet it seems that, to a certain segment of the population, it is now considered an insult to say they have a degree from Harvard.....or with some folks it is an insult to imply that they have any education past the 8th grade. Talk about a race to the bottom.

Dear all, please take note. The new liberal "ism" we must all fear is Anti-intelectualism.

Liberals have been working on this for the better part of 20 years but it is here now. if you do not accept liberal stupidity, you are an anti-intelectual.

This thread is a great example of the "anti-intellectual atomosphere" embraced by the far leftists.

And this argument is an example of what is absorbed as "intellectual" in the con-world.

Come to a place?

"Nerds" have always been made fun of. Always.

When have they not been disparaged?

Big shock for me coming to this country and suddenly being smart and doing well in school was no longer something admirable (to your peers).
That was the 1980s. And it was going on long before then.
