I agree with the idea of allowing Africans to remove it's dictators and sort out it's own solutions. This is the only way African countries can have real long term development. I actually think aid is ok as long as the countries recieving it have put in place political and economic reforms that will bring about transparency and wealth creation after the aid is gone.

What made you think he believes that Africa is a nation? He made reference to various individual African countries in the video. Unless you're referring to where he said Africa could be like China? He ment African countries could be economic powers like China if they were left alone to sort out their own development.

And he also kept referring to Africa as a nation. Just because he got some of the countries right doesn't negate the fact he also calls Africa a country. Pretty easy distinction to make. The guy's obviously an idiot.

The guy knows Africa is a continent.

Many people refer to "Africa" in the way he does. He was talking about Africa in a general way because much of the continent has been recieving foriegn aid.

Oh he does, does he?

How about linking to something with merit, something that makes a real argument? It's an interesting topic, but that guy in the link you provide is an absolute moron. Here, from the Wall Street Journal

"Yet evidence overwhelmingly demonstrates that aid to Africa has made the poor poorer, and the growth slower. The insidious aid culture has left African countries more debt-laden, more inflation-prone, more vulnerable to the vagaries of the currency markets and more unattractive to higher-quality investment. It's increased the risk of civil conflict and unrest (the fact that over 60% of sub-Saharan Africa's population is under the age of 24 with few economic prospects is a cause for worry). Aid is an unmitigated political, economic and humanitarian disaster.

Africa does need to be left alone. It needs to be left alone as far as aid is concerned. Too many Africans are accustomed to having our begging bowls filled. More importantly, Africa needs to be left alone in terms of foreign interventions into countries' affairs (i.e. France with Cote D'Ivoire).

However if anyone, regardless of nationality, puts Kony's head on a stick it would be a win for mankind in general and Africans in particular. No one should be able to get away with the mass atrocities that he has.

And the guy in the video needs to calm down....no need to shout.
