I can't get to the video from where I am today, it is blocked by a firewall, but I read the AP report and it sounds like he got tasered for fighting the security guards after the he was asked to sit down once his time allotment had been exhausted after he had asked numerous questions and wished to continue in violation of Univerity rules. AP reported that after the University finally cut off the microphone when he would not relinquish it, he became upset and started screaming. He fought security officers as they tried to lead him out by the arms and was only tasered after he wrestled a couple of them to the ground.
He has a very unusual interview technique. I am afraid it wouldn't fly with me either and I would have loved to hear the answers to the questions myself.
Against Al Gore yes, with no regrets. Against John Kerry no, with no regrets. Not sure what that has to do with my comments.
They guy stood on street corners with a big sign that read "Harry Dies" the morning after the Harry Potter book was released as one of his stunts.
If he wouldn't have fought with the guards, he wouldn't have been jolted. I guess they could have used other methods that are commonly used, like a knee to the ribs with full bodyweight pressure, or they could have knocked him in the head with sticks. Regardless of innocence or guilt, you don't fight cops unless you want to be forceably detained, and 999 times out of 1000, the cops will win.

This is the essence of the Rule of Law. The government has a monopoly on the use of force. In this case the cops used force to remove the person and he fought back and lost. If the cops had not had used force, the crowd may have just gotten angry enough to shut him up by stomping him into a wet blot on the floor.
There are worse thing than R o L. Riot for instance.
I am not sure where you are coming from on that statement. The guy who was tasered is a Bush supported and was tasered by guards protecting Kerry from questions. If this has to be a politically motivated incident, which I don't think it was, then it was a Democrat tasering a Republican because the Republican asked the Democrat a question that put the Democrat in a bad political light.
This was only a case of a nut not following the accepted rules of order and having to be forceably removed by the University officials when he became erratic.
