That's what Obama was preaching to college students last weekend. Aren't you all tired of the hucksterism? This country, like Europe, faces huge challenges both domestically and internationally. But our president comes to us asking for a second term peddling slogans: "Hope and Change," "Forward," "War on Women," "War on Students", "War on Immigrants", War on Gays"... . With millions upon millions out of work, seniors' savings being robbed by the Feds' artifically low interest rates to pay for Obama's spending spree, militant and expansionist Islamism on the march, etc., don't we deserve some straight talk from our presidential candidates?

There is still; no hope (in obama) and I hope he will CHANGE and tell the simple truth instead of constantly lying to the youth in this country

Yes, we definitely deserve straight talk. Barack Obama does not have that in him. He's not that kind of guy. The political filter between his ears will not allow him to reconcile politics with reality. Everything has to be embellished, twisted, or distorted. I personally believe that America has caught on to his antics. Romney being tied with BO in the polls makes it very clear to me that that "hope and change" is appealing only to those who would never vote against Barack Obama anyway. Preaching to the choir reaps no benefits. Slogans are dead in 2012. This President has nothing to run on.

My hope and change is for a new President in November. I hope Obama returns to Chicago and we have a change in this Country.

Unfortunately, our politicians have learned that people vote based largely on 'speech appeal', rather than critical thinking and substance. Our president gives a good speach and says what people want to hear

If he didn't change things with the majorities he had in Congress, and a near mandate from the country to follow through with the policies he promoted, it's not going to happen in his second term. He's part of the machine now.

I kind of wish he hadn't ran. He could have probably done more good as a major political figure and a Senator. Instead he had to become just another moderate figurehead. The face of the machine...
