"Obama has a more than 5-to-1 edge over Romney in political donations from individuals who list themselves as employees of the Defense Department or one of four military branches, a USA TODAY analysis of federal filings shows. Army employees are the biggest source of military contributions to each:
$108,571 to Obama
$22,004 to Romney"
And with Ron Paul out, I expect Obama to gain greater support. Why the heck would the military support Romney again? One would think they'd be smarter than the average Joe and see right thru what Romney is about. They demonstrated this with a far greater support for Ron Paul over Romney.
Setting aside the oft-repeated lie that President Obama has been apologizing for what the United States has done, and assuming that "military people dislike President Obama so much" (for which the OP has provided no evidence), the most likely explanation is that the all-volunteer military seems in general to be drawn from and composed of more conservative people than the population as a whole. As a consequence, it would not be surprising to learn that members of the military are less supportive of the president than many other segments of the population.
My next question, of course, is why it matters to you. Unlike many conservative posters here, I do not believe that the views of members of the military are entitled to any special deference. What is more, neither did the Founders.
