Something is very wrong when our federal government turns a blind eye to voter fraud and harasses the only entity that is trying to clean it up.

If a social security beneficiary dies, the minute the SSA is notified, the persons benefits immediately stop.
If you have a drivers license, it must be renewed periodically to determine if you are still alive or a resident of the state.
If you are a home owner, you must verify yearly that you are still entitled to the homestead exemption.
But it looks like if you register to vote, your name remains on the register in perpetuity.

"Someone" wants to guarantee stolen elections by non-citizens.
Must be "real patriotic Americans", eh?

I guess disenfranchisement only matters when those who are likely to be disenfranchised have voting interests that coincide with yours.

From your link:

"We certainly don't want anybody to be inconvenienced by the process," Cate says. "But we also believe everyone will understand that it's in the best interests of our election process to make sure only eligible voters can cast a ballot."
What's wrong with trying to make sure that only eligible voters cast ballots? Only the (limited) mind of a liberal would have a problem with limiting voting to eligible citizens.

And THIS is why it's so important:

And here's a reminder of why disputes in Florida over voter eligibility are so important: That election, you'll recall, was decided by just 537 votes.

Why are they doing it? Simple. To make sure as many non-citizens as possible get to vote.
