Democrats have argued that requiring voters to show photo IDs prior to voting is an egregious act of voter suppression.
Yet, at their own convention, they insist that all delegates provide a photo ID to even have access to the convention floor. When their own party is at state, it seems their priorities are somewhat different that their rhetoric suggests.
No Democrats say using voter ID to suppress disadvantaged voters based on race is racist...
Nobody was demanding a photo ID when we had a white president so yes,it`s driven by racism.
Oh for God's sake now you are really stooping to a new low now and getting even more ridiculous by the minute. At some point in the past few years it was discovered that non-citizens were voting. What the hell does that have to do with what race the president is? Obama is half white by the way.
So people are not getting IDs, because they lose their birth certificate, and won't pay the 15 dollars to replace it.
If someone lacks the motivation to pay 15 dollars, to replace something they lost and need, then why should they vote? Have you heard of personal responsibility?
Because you are supposed to be able to vote free of charge! How many times does this have to be repeated?

Some point in the past few years? There have been allegations of vote fraud for the past few centuries! Why is it such a big deal now?
"Rampant voter fraud existed in the Colonial era, when voting was generally limited to white, property-owning men. To swing local elections, Campbell writes, corrupt campaigns would arrange for the landless to gain title to property in return for their vote, after which the land would be returned. The purchasing of votes was so popular in Rhode Island that the practice became known as "Rhode Islandism." "
The Supreme Court has specificially ruled that PHOTO ID can be required. You CHOOSING to not get a birth certificate, and thus a photo is YOUR CHOICE.. dont whine to me because you make poor choices.
Voter ID laws go beyond requiring photo ID, since only specific forms of photo ID are acceptable, and even some forms of government-issued photo ID are not accepted.
Nobody has ever questionsed the government-issued photo ID I present, but that's not good enough in voter ID states.

Actually yes they were. The debate goes back well before 2008. It was often discussed here in Washington state around 2004 when we had a gubernatorial election that was decided by 129 votes.

It` probably been discussed before but what hasn`t? Perhaps it`s not abourt race but more about fascists and the desire for one party rule. Anyway, how about a link about proposed voter ID laws proposed before Obama was elected?
