Let me explain it to you since it's not clicking. I'll try to keep it simple for you.
1) Liberals rail about people who DO pay federal income taxes.....they simply want these people to pay MORE.
2) Conservatives rail against people who DON'T pay federal income taxes....they simply want these people to pay more than ZERO.
Do you understand the difference? Where's the disconnect? I'll try to hold your hand and walk you through this if you let me know what part you don't quite get.
In the context of the OP - there is no difference.
According to your own premise which I quote:
Quote:
Isn't it the LEFT who is indeed concerned with other people's taxes, which by extension is concern with another person's paycheck?

And "conservatives" rail against people who can't afford to pay, while being delusional that liberals aren't rich.

Exactly. But, somehow, it would be too inconvenient for them to call it a class warfare.

If I didn't, I wouldn't have made the points. As a liberal/progressive, let me educate you on my take on the subject. And that starts with a detestation of Putin's ideas for taxation that is doing little else besides promoting/accelerating oligarchy in Russia. And believes in:
"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. A tax upon house-rents, therefore, would in general fall heaviest upon the rich; and in this sort of inequality there would not, perhaps, be anything very unreasonable. It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."
- Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations
Or, perhaps, it is my upbringing that has me follow what I was expected to:
" Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy, I will now arise, says the LORD, I will protect them from those who malign them."
- Psalms, 12:5
And THAT, to "conservatives" comes across as "obsession with what other people make". Petty minds, I must say.

In the private sector people are generally obsessed with how much the person in the adjoining cube is making. It is all driven by the need to know exactly where you are in the economic /social hierarchy.
I am only concerned with what I make and could care less about any hierarchy.
If it is about warfare, as you called it, it is not unusual for the servants to show up to fight for their masters. If it is something else, then we wouldn't be discussing along those lines.
I don't fight for anyone. I just don't live by the philosophy "some people have too much money and they need to have it confiscated", which is the liberal mindset.

Actions speak louder than words. That is my take on the subject. This and pretty much any other.
I know lots of people, liberal and conservative, who are obsessed with what other people make. I'm not one of them.
I really don't think that this is what the OP meant. Our president was quoted: "At some point, you have enough money". So while both conservatives and liberals may be obsessed with what people make, only one of those ideologies wants to use that knowledge to take that money away from you and give it to people who did nothing to deserve it.

If it works like that, than the reverse will be true as well. For that matter, does a soldier deserve to die for you?
