Why not just tell kids to say "No". It worked when Nancy Reagan said it.

Those who don't want their kids listening to graphic depictions of sexual acts by school employees run the risk of being called uncool.

Why not teach kids at a early age?

7th? That's too freaking late.

We had our first sex education in 5th grade. Yes, because girls at 11 were already getting their periods, and the school thought it best to start teaching about sex ed at the time. We learned about condoms and the like, as well as what happens if you have sex without protection. Although, I already knew about sex by the time I was 8 years old. My parents were very forward thinking.

Don't like it, don't read it. I don't care.
Awww, I can post wherever or whatever I like on CD so long as it's not against the TOS.
You have read the TOS, haven't you?

And the Blaze, hahahahaha.

Try google if you don't believe me, I took the middle of the information, some said more, the least I saw was 19%.

Just because you don't like an answer doesn't mean it's not true.

Got a little anger going today?
If you cared about the topic instead of annoying peopole about their links, you coulda googled in less time than it took you to post.

Onalaska parents say sex ed is too racy for 5th graders | KING5.com Seattle

I liked this sentence ---

"I think the principal handled it appropriately at the time; she only gave factual information, no demonstrations,†said Onalaska Superintendent Scott Fenter." No demonstrations ? Must have left a lot of kids disappointed. Maybe next time.

I knew about sex at 6. My school started teaching sex ed in 5th grade (age 10/11). A lot of kids know about sex way earlier than their own parents realize--especially if that kid has ever been sexually abused (which is a lot more common than people want to believe). They learn way more about sex, way earlier than anyone would think. A lot of other kids learn about sex through classmates and overhearing adults, who often act like a kid can't hear them just cause they're upstairs, lol.

IMO, the only people who think they learn about it later are the adults, who want to believe their children are more "innocent" than they are. I remember so many conversations as a kid where an adult would be trying to keep something from me they thought I didn't already know about, and it always took great amounts of restraint to pretend like they were actually keeping me "innocent" or whatever.

I don't think this principal was in the right to get so graphic, though. I think she should have framed it at least a bit more academically, and left the graphics to slumber parties where the kids share all their secrets and play truth or dare, etc. It's just awkward to hear that stuff from your teacher, rather than your friends, and I do wonder if there wasn't an ulterior motive for wanting to go into such graphic detail. Maybe she got some kind of emotional high from it? I don't know. It does seem like she way way beyond what was required of her.

I thought that statement was weird. So she didn't sexually abuse the kids by being an exhibitionist in front of the whole class? Well, gee, that's great. Thanks for pointing that out to us, Superintendent Fenter.

I think this parent summed it up nicely:

Quote:
"There are some questions you just don't answer or you answer them politically correctly; she was not politically correct,” said parent Jean Pannkuk.

Your second sentence is apparent.

Got anything but the Blaze, OP?
There are two links the Blaze highlights as sources. One Fox News. Another is a local station.

If I had listened to my parents sexual instructions I would still be a virgin. One was a twisted sadist and the other an abused child. I learned from the other kids. They made sense. Teaching the basics in school would have helped a lot.
