I guess 29 more lost jobs isn't a huge number but losing the jobs because our government doesn't want coal to remain on the market is totally wrong. Make sure you read the company's statement and compare it to the local press story. Also, I wonder how Mr. Obama made out in his speaking engagement in a town where he is closing the military base nearby. Going in there to ask for votes from people he is taking jobs away from seems a bit silly to me.

This is a little misleading. Yes, this is Obama's position but you'll note that most of the employee's have been laid off well before now.

There is no business for the older technology providers. The more efficient power plants are working way under capacity right now because of the economy. This is the part not being told.

The economy sucks.

Coal is a huge polluter. Good riddance. It's amazing how the righty flotilla suddenly becomes concerned about job losses and unemployed workers when a technology they favor is affected.

I thought Mr. Big Bad Businessman over there built his own company? Shouldn't he be repsonsible for its failing as well? Can't go promoting all his hard work and then ***** and complain that someone else made it go under, can he?

Given Mr. Romney's preference to have allowed the auto industry and all other industries which it relies upon fail during the height of the financial crisis ... I find it laughable that someone from that "ilk" would be concerned about an operation (coal) which has done so much damage to our nation and is a process which is so very out of date.

We interrupt our regularly scheduled rants about the budget deficit, bloated size of government, and inefficiencies in the system due to politics to bring you this update...

how dare they close a military base they don't need?

Ok, carry on....
