It is the largest tax put on the American people all at once , and I guess the mandate to pay for the health care is a tax too so it adds up.

Can you please point out where the politifact analysis went wrong?

It does not matter how it compares, it is still more taxes. Taxes that Obama lied about.

Looks like the GOP's attempt to spin it as tax is taking hold.

Nobody called it a tax until CJ Robert's did. Next up? It'll be an Obama tax!

It is the largest tax increase in US history (I have no clue whether it's the largest tax increase in world history). That being said, I agree that Rush is a comedian and should not be taken seriously.

The only thing I found regarding taxes are these lines:

Quote:
The median U.S. family income is about $50,000. Family health coverage can easily run $20,000 a year — and rising quickly. In that scenario, the coverage mandate is essentially a 40 percent tax on that family, which is now required by law to ensure that every family member has qualifying coverage.
If the senario is true (20k/year insurrance for a family making 50k), they fall under this category:

Quote:
The hardship exemption to the mandate is extremely limited. To be exempt from the insurance requirement, someone would have to be facing insurance premiums at least equal to 8 percent of his or her income
The Individual Mandate | ObamaCare Watch

So they won't have to buy insurance nor will they have any penalty. So no this case would not be a tax increase nor will this families situation be different before or after the law.

Yes - it is a tax. If it's a fine, then it's unconstitutional.
