Didn't the planners look at the drawings before they approved this building on NAB Coronado in San Diego?

I understand they are planning on spending $600,000 on landscaping to change how this 40 year old building looks from a satellite shot.

Seems a little silly to me.

CNN listed it as a breaking story, but the building has been there for more than 30 years.

The gov't could have saved $600,000 by ignoring the story and stating it was nonsense.

But that wouldn't be the gov't.

If this was a new building I could understand the outrage, but it was built decades before "google earth".

If at the time of the construction the gov't decided to go with a less functional building design so that they wouldn't risk "offending" the 2 local TV news traffic 'copters, that would have been quite a story too, huh?

Talk about cookie cutter architecture. Design building, make three copies, arrange on plot plan, close eyes, approve. Really clever and probably some congresscritter's piece of pork.

I agree that the swastika is not a good symbol and it should be fixed, but will it be "offensive" if they do a star of david or a christmas tree architecture? oh, where's the ACLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.
