Well, first and most importantly, several cycles of 2-3% is concidered "robust" so let's recognize that you're talking about above optimal results.

That said, it could be achieved in America with tariffs...at least for a few years until normative levels were reached.

I would expect economic growth in the 7 to 15% rate if we could scale back the Federal government by 93%.

I agree with that 100%, That can't happen while Obama is still in office though.

For a modern day economy, not naturally. That is just absurd.

Plus, when has the long term growth rate of the US been 5% to 7%?

Partially right, partially wrong...whether we want to admit it or not the battles fought with MNCs are quixotic...but they are major emplyers.

However, small business makes up 47% of the workforce, We need to recognize this in discusssions of taxation.

All drugs should be legalized and taxed, Privatized prisons should be eliminated immediately.

Tariffs should be introduced.

Donkeys should fly outta my arse...

I think that so much has been waste on fololish progrmas like stimulus and the policies so piled up with no clarity that everyone is hunkered down from wall street to main street. people lose faith when promises are made and thinsg get so screwedup with no results. Just the deficit alone means deqacdes of less overall. It has to be paid some how which means money not being spent else where.and that is what drive growth.
