Last I checked, the economy is still poor and recovery is years, not months, away. So why are politicians spending record amounts of money to send more junk mail into my mailbox? Does this volume keep the USPS afloat or is it bankrupting them? At some point, are we going to stop getting important mail in favor of more junk? Can we do nothing to limit the parcel size even? Today I get one that's a 12.5 x 9.5 inch poster from Wentworth. In the last voting period, there was a week where I received 9 parcels from one politician alone--plus three doorbell rings if the paper bombs weren't enough. Seriously, you think that's the kind of tactic to lure a "conservative" voter? Has there ever been a legislation (city, other state, etc.) that limits the volume of political rubbish that fills our recycling bins if not landfills? Please vote out all incumbents.

Default Money,

Money is the life's blood of politics, flyers are only a part of a huge advertising budgets.
As LBJ once stated , I don't want anybody, to be able to wipe their nose without having
my picture on the tissue. (not a verbatim quote due to restrictions by censors here if you catch my drift)
I get far more junk mail from retail businesses daily. No comparison there.
Flyers are a part of free speech. No getting their name out there repeatedly, no chance of being elected. Saturation by Exposure, exposure, exposure. Money wins elections.
You have no more chance of swaying my vote any more than the flyers. QUOTE=mjfrog;25427213]Last I checked, the economy is still poor and recovery is years, not months, away. Have you not kept up with the last, oh say, 35 years of politics? This is common, no matter how the economy is doing...

It might be rubbish to you, but there are a slew of uninformed voters in this city and this is one way for folks to begin the process of becoming more politically aware. I'd rather see flyers go out and get a reaction rather than what I hear so many people say: 'I just don't vote at all.'

Indifference is sad to me.

So you actually think people become INFORMED by the flyers? Indifference is sad? Guess what the flyer bombs do--promote indifference, or drive me to voting for the candidate with the least flyers. At least the retail flyers offer something to buy into.
