My cardiologist is Indian. I can't understand a word he says. I can't even pronounce his name. Fortunately, he's not a big talker.

So, which country with values that echo Somalia will they all move to ? all of Europe is socialistic, so is Australia and Canada.
I think they will just refuse to take any patients who are on government insurance plans, or find some other line of work. Our doctors are some of our brightest citizens, I'm sure they will find other occupations that will pay them a fair wage for a days work, or they will start their own businesses.

Probably not, but it never hurts to ask.
The OP is coming at this issue from the same angle as our tyrants in government, they both think our doctors are prisoners, in that they have no where else to go, and will just bow before government demands and take the abuse.

Yes, agreed, and what does that mean "open their own private practice"? Most docs are in private practice now! If they mean a "cash-only" practice, well, there are some of those. But most people who have insurance intend to use their ins., not pay additional cash.

It is harder to get into vet school than med school.

Many of them have kids in college through their 60s, as they tend to start their families later.

Well, there were those threads yesterday about 83% of them saying they'd quit. If they're going to support themselves, they have to do something. There is no way the US economy can absorb all of them in professional positions, which also begs the question of what professional position they would be qualified for.

Yep; it's gotta be that health care thingy alone that defines the "socialistic" nature of a nation.

It can't be; Medicare, Medicaid that existed for years prior to "O'Bamacare". It can't be universal education, it cannot possibly be that welfare thingy that allows for mulitple generations of families to thrive without ever holding a job or paying into your sytem. Just keep having babies and we'll give you more; oh, and here's a free cel-phone with minutes paid so you can keep in touch with your 10 kiddies and their 10 mulitiple daddies.

Yep; it's just that OBama healthcare thingy that defines you as socialistic! Give me a freaking break here; you're as socialistic as the worst of the countries you hold in poor regard and moreso than many of them.

Those doctors are simply circling the wagons and trying on a full court media blitz to send more fear up the wire. They have no intention of moving anywhere.

They'll move to the same place all those liberals moved to when they pissed and moaned about Bush...oh that's right, none of them moved either.

Doctors may very well stop practicing medicine. You think someone smart enough, dedicated enough, and with a strong enough work ethic to become a doctor couldn't become a success at something else?

Well we certainly once were a first world country and we didn't have socialized health care. We also had the world's top health care system.
