Tree-rings prove climate was WARMER in Roman and Medieval times than it is now - and world has been cooling for 2,000 years

 • Tree ring study gives first accurate climate reading back to 138BC
 • World has been slowly cooling for 2,000 years
 • World was warmer in Roman and Medieval times than it is now
 • Study of semi-fossilised trees in Finland

Measurements stretching back to 138BC prove that the Earth is slowly cooling due to changes in the distance between the Earth and the sun.

The finding may force scientists to rethink current theories of the impact of global warming.

It is the first time that researchers have been able to accurately measure trends in global temperature over the last two millennia.

Over that time, the world has been getting cooler - and previous estimates, used as the basis for current climate science, are wrong.

This is just science. Obviously the planet was much hotter eons ago when it was mostly molten lava. Then it was hit by a huge asteroid that was largely frozen water. When the two collided the explosion and resulting chaos lasted for millions of years. The Moon finally spun off and the Earth was finally formed as a result of all of this--and that's where we got our water which also helped to cool us off billions of years earlier than it would have taken.

Ever so slowly it will continue to cool until the core is no longer active and then there goes our magnetic field and our atmosphere.

It's just a matter of eons and this will be a dead rock in space.

Not unless the sun dies first...it's only a few billion years away!
Then we'll be crispy critters.

i plan on being in another solar system long before that happens.

There really is no lie to far which the deniers won't embrace. Oh, well, at least the Daily Fail has figured out how to milk the dullards for money.

I see you called people illiterate then ran from your own illiteracy when I posted this in another thread. Why is that?

Growth-enhancing effects of CO2 create an impetus for cooling. Carbon dioxide is a powerful aerial fertilizer, directly enhancing the growth of almost all terrestrial plants and many aquatic plants as its atmospheric concentration rises. And just as increased algal productivity at sea increases the emission of sulfur gases to the atmosphere, ultimately leading to more and brighter clouds over the world's oceans, so too do CO2-induced increases in terrestrial plant productivity lead to enhanced emissions of various sulfur gases over land, where they likewise ultimately cool the planet. In addition, many non-sulfur-based biogenic materials of the terrestrial environment play major roles as water- and ice-nucleating aerosols; and the airborne presence of these materials should also be enhanced by rising levels of atmospheric CO2. Hence, it is possible that incorporation of this multifaceted CO2-induced cooling effect into the suite of equations that comprise the current generation of global climate models might actually tip the climatic scales in favor of global cooling in the face of continued growth of anthropogenic CO2 emissions.

I'm just happy that a conservative journalist picked up a copy of Nature. Small victories.

I am pretty sure the "Daily Mail" stole the story from the "National Enquirer".
