Lots of people like to call themselves that. My question is,for those on here that call themselves "centrists"or moderates, what does that mean? What do you stand for?

In my experience, they generally tend to be fairly hardcore liberals masquerading as something else.

Having said that, I call myself socially moderate and fiscally conservative. I will tell you about my social stances since I call myself a social moderate. I do not call myself a moderate in general, because of my views on economic issues.

I am pro-gay rights. I am pro-gun rights. I have mixed feelings about the abortion issue. I generally support being tough on crime but have concerns about the death penalty. I am pro-relaxing pot laws but do not support outright legalization until some test is developed to determine marijuana content in a person's blood for the purpose of determining whether a person should be subejct to DWI/DUI charges if they drive after smoking it - if a test is developed, I would support legalization. I am pro-gambling legalization. I am adamantly against illegal immigration. I believe in AGW, but do not agree with the hardcore leftists on how to should solve it (I realize this is probably more of a fiscal issue than a social one, but it's sort of a social issue). On defense issues (if you could call them social issues), my philosophy is somewhere in between Obama/W/Romney's and the non-interventionist foreign policy that Ron Paul and some others support.
