"Spreading xenophobia" I don't even know what that means...I am sure the Greeks don't even have a word for it..and I am sure the Greek "offender" does not have that word in his vocabulary.. Soon as you see that world "appropriate" you know exactly who and what you are dealing with- there is no need to know more...I am surprised I have not seen the phrase "I am not comfortable with that"- it's a standard bit of rhetoric for those who seek to correct every one like a cruel father with the stick of political correctness- enough all ready- Did an AFRICAN in Greece file a complaint? NO- of course not- probably some pushy German who still wants to rule the world.
Again, I don't personally care what this person said - I'm just playing Devil's advocate here. And you know exactly what xenophobia means, regardless of what language or term they use to describe it. I even gave you the dictionary definition, so please stop feigning ignorance.
If you put a microphone on me 24/7, I'm sure you would hear some inappropriate things too! But I'm not a public figure, nor do I post things on Twitter for the world to see.
Well despite his erroneous thought process, the notion that "my ancestors built this country, its mine" could never be applied to the USA. Basically everyone here has ancestors that built it. A city on a hill.
I agree but people often will not admit that we played a major role just like everyone else.
LOL. I will not comment further because I am not one of those "some" who can get away with it all the time.
I have my share of infractions too, so don't fool yourself into thinking I am immune to consequences here... but what I said was not against the TOS, and that is the only thing that matters.
The thought police. Wasn't this a topic in the book 1984?
What happened to "you may not like what I say but I have the right to say it?"
She had the right to say it, and nobody (AFAIK) is suggesting criminal prosecution... but her Olympic team also had the right to respond, and she's not guaranteed that spot on the team. She opened her virtual mouth in front of millions, and should be mature enough to accept the backlash that follows.
