If you are using drugs of any kind being smuggled in from Mexico, you are contributing to this.
The "War on Drugs" gives them the power. When you have marijuana which is illegal and shouldn't be, it makes the plant a lot more valuable thus giving the cartels more money which they use for more ammunition. Make these drugs legal and you end a lot of their power.

How about the rival cartel fellas face being sewn onto a soccer ball a few years back? These people are the craziest of the crazy.
Russian mob is far more vicious. Surgical strikes work when you work them without rearranging the planet & impeding majority liberty to accommodate criminals. Convicting them in absentia with full transparency of a court and Intel/ LE sent on a head hunting expedition of their own sounds appropriate to me.
