The US House of Representatives quietly passed a last-minute addition to the Agricultural Appropriations Bill for 2013 last week - including a provision protecting genetically modified seeds from litigation in the face of health risks.
The rider, which is officially known as the Farmer Assurance Provision, has been derided by opponents of biotech lobbying as the “Monsanto Protection Act,” as it would strip federal courts of the authority to immediately halt the planting and sale of genetically modified (GMO) seed crop regardless of any consumer health concerns.
I know the source is biased, but it appears to me none of the major news media sources are covering this.
I am not too sure of GMO myself, and I would prefer it to be labeled at least.
Bad for us,doesn't surprise me the pricks in congress passed this. Monsanto is a major lobbyist in DC...its all about population control...keep us fat and dumb and you don't have to worry about a thinking population taking back what's theirs.
There is already reason to believe genetically modified food can be problematic. Some believe the uprise in Celiacs and diabetes can be traced back to the emergence of short stalked wheat. That's pretty much the whole basis of the book "Wheat Belly."

I think this is an absolute disaster, it basically makes them untouchable and unaccountable for the harm that they are causing and will cause long into the future. There's no stopping them now without a Presidential veto, and that ain't happenin.
If it genetically modifies the plants and animals, it modifies the humans that consume them. Bad news.

Well, at least it is a planned disaster.
You wouldn't want it any other way, would you?
Ignorance is no longer an excuse, it has become the tool.
Maybe colleges will begin offering courses on willful ignorance.
