The Senate has voted the funds necessary to repair the dome, but the House won't consider it. "We can't afford it," they say.

In other words, they're kicking it down the road until after the election so they can claim they are the party of fiscal responsibility just long enough to get your vote.

How do I correct the misspelling in the thread title?

Obviously, it should be "leaking," instead of "leading."

I absolutely agree with them. Not a penny more should be spent unless the bill has a way to actually pay for it. You want the Capital fixed? Pony up with the funds.

I need a new roof on my house also. Nobody is willing to do it and have my grandkids pay for it when they get a job in 15 years.

If your roof actually begins leaking, will you just live with that or borrow the money you need to fix it before the whole ceiling caves in and the water damages your walls and/or foundation, making the repairs exponentially more expensive?

To me, failing to address a structural issue immediately is short-sighted and foolish, whether it's your house of the nations capitol building.

Thanks, but that didn't work. It changed the spelling in the title which leads off my original post, but did not change the viewable title in the forum.

They'll find a way to blame Obama for it if/when it eventually falls in.

The Captial belongs to all of us, and I would Love to see a private funded to pay for it, But since the funds have been approved by the Senate the House should do the same. I would also point out that the longer one waits to make roofing repars the more it will cost to fix it, that does not sound very Conservative to me.

Hmmm?

I like you, am human... The last time I did it, it worked for me.

Like you, I sweat getting called out just for spelling errors.
Don't sweat it, we knew what you meant to type. Well almost... I thought it was leaning, not leaking. LOL!

Only the agitators will try to get you to bite.
