Ermey has the right to express his views.

Geico has the right to hire or fire any spokesman they want for political or controversial comments besides the fact it's probably written in his contract they can.

I have the right to criticize and choose any insurance carrier I want based on their actions.

Freedom, love it or leave it.

A marine infantryman is nicknamed (one of many) a bullet stopper. I was in the Marines, and if you had been there yourself you would know that. Don't lecture me about bravery while sitting safely behind your computer.

Apparently you're not quite quick enough. I listed several I cons I do think are bright and can name many more. Sergeant Poopbrain is not one of them.

His point is that he always liked him and he's glad he isn't a liberal. I feel the same way.

Sounds like a business decision to me. I wouldn't someone who is representing my company making political statements.

Precisely. Given that he has a history of doing this, they can find another character for their commercials.

What if he was an employee of GEICO, not representing the company in anyway?

Do you support GEICO being able to fire an employee for their poltical involvement, they don't agree with?

Calling someone a socialist isnt the same thing as nasty emails or derogatory jokes. Not even close.

And what Toure said, is far different as well. Claiming Romney attacks are the nigerization of Obama.

I never said Geico didnt have a right to fire this guy. But for simply speaking out against him and using the word socialist....that it a little much to fire someone for.

But dont try to compare his comments to some of these others. They are not comparable and it's rather pathetic on your end.
