It's not entirely Obama's fault. You cannot compete globally because you're grotesquely over-paid. And that's Obama's fault? No. That is the fault of unions, your foreign policy and your own greed.

In order to be competitive globally, your wages are going to have to decline from $22.50/hour quite a bit, perhaps as low as $12-$14/hour. In the mean-time your job losses increases the unemployment rate, which puts downward pressure on all wages, and with households earning less, they're consuming less, and so it goes.

Not to worry, you only have about 35 more years of this.

Not surprised....

Yeah, you cannot compete globally when you have countries who protect their industries with trade policies, in their favor along with tariffs. Yeah, you're right. The CEO types in this country got greedy and started shipping jobs overseas to be built/made/produced only to bring it back to the U.S. You can thank the U.S. military for that as they control the waterways and call the shots, of the entire planet. So much for the 'wealthy" not wanting to pay their fair share, at least for military expenditures to make their profits possible.

This idea of competing on a global scale is a misnomer, to say the least.

But the markets are back to 13,000. Manufacturing sucks. Employment sucks. Housing still sucks. But yet, the markets continue up.

You forgot to mention that our elected reps starting with the President agrees to these trade policies despite the fact that many are complete unfair towards our own industry.
The CEO types started shipping jobs over seas because it is their job to keep their company viable. 100% blame our elected reps.
