Romneycare can be summed up by the same sentence.

Both should be replaced with a government sponsored and owned Universal Health Care system run without corporations or their executive salaries and profits. A proper system will pay the direct care people a lot of money but keep the clerks and administrators on government salaries.

I do not understand why people have so much trust in government. The government needs to have less power, not more.

After what she said, you still want the government to run it?

OMG!

NO!

Insurance is none of the government's business. Period. End of story.

Why, oh why, can't dems/liberals think and do for themselves? Why?

I think you're a little confused. The vast majority of Dems DO think and do for themselves. The difference is that they can't fathom the thought of those who can't being left to die on the streets ,which is the "bootstrap" conservative agenda. The best part being all the while professing their strong christian morals..... "there but for the grace of God go I"

Without the government then no one could afford health care and so many would be unisurable.

Who is dying on the streets? As a nurse, I have seen countless patients that were homeless or illegal immigrants that got loads of free health care (free for them, of course). Dramatic statements like you'rs are only based in emotions and not facts.

You can dismiss outright any statement that contains "die in the streets" as an emotionally charged opinion, usually devoid of any factual information. If someone can't make their case without the use of such rhetoric, then they usually don't have much of a case to begin with.

Yes, the homeless get loads of free health care. The housed uninsured, not so much.

Kind of like the statements I'm countering? I imagine you'd like to include the millions of natural born, uninsured Americans, who use the ER as a doctors office?
