So this video was created for publication on Telemundo, not US English speaking shows. I'm not sure what the purpose is to put this up on Spanish shows - does Mexico and it's citizens have a greater interest in what is going on it Egypt than Americans do?
So, Obama doesn't know if Egypt is an ally or an enemy. But the "outcome" to how Morsi handles the attack on the US Embassy, which is still occupied by AQ supporters and has the AQ flag flying over it, will be the deciding factor? How long has this administration perceived Egypt as neither friend or foe?
America still fed money to Egypt after:
Morsi's first public speech - demanded the release of the blind sheikh (attack on WTC in 1993) - a demand that would be made by Al Queda.
American NGO's detained from leaving Egypt under Morsi's rule. Perceived as instigators.
Americans kidnapped in Egypt - 6 in 2012.
American Embassy breached and occupied by Al Qaeda rebels, tearing down the American flag and raising the AQ flag.
(If you saw Arabic news shows you would be horrified at what is written on the embassy walls, the signs be held up and what is being said by those who breached it and their supporters.)
So the US just keeps pouring money into Egypt until they decide what side of the fence Egypt is on? If Obama can't decide, or don't know if Egypt is an ally or an enemy (and Egypt's position is becoming more and more clear) then stop sending them money until you do know!!!! IMO, if you don't know who your friend is or who your enemy is, you don't finance their cause. If he ever declares Egypt as an enemy would that mean he was funding an enemy all along - which would be considered treason?
Really??? No option??? No choice when it comes to invading other countries and support the overthrow of governments? Who is holding us hostage that we have to impose our thinking, democracy and government on other countries and sacrifice American lives in the process??
What is wrong with you? Seriously, what is wrong with you? I mean to pretend that the US government doesn't attempt to cultivate relationships with governments that they aren't sure are friend or foe is just ridiculous.
Do you really think that President GWB didn't spend money in foreign nations that weren't friends of the US?
Why are conservatives forgetting history and reality and attempting to hold President Obama to a standard that no president could uphold in foreign policy?
Obama, 'the great orator' need only open his mouth, distrurb the air and his media shills will interpret the sounds to spin profound yarns that change to meet the situation.

Hey -- why didn't we just keep GWB in the White House since he's the standard you guys always hold up when judging Obama? I thought you guys wanted change? I guess not. Now it's "well what would GWB have done? that's what Obama needs to do".

Does anyone really know? I have a sneaking suspicion that they will conduct themselves in the manner Pakistan has been doing. Playing us for money (and throwing us a few bones to appear to be an ally), but provide financial and intel to our enemies. However, I do think Libya is very pro-western and cannot be considered in the same league with Egypt.
Egypt is still in flux after their successful overthrow of the Mubarak regime. It will take time for them to develop their democracy, just as it did us after we tossed out the British. Until then, nobody really knows where the New Egypt will land on the political scale. The President is correct when he says we don't yet know how to consider that country.
So, let's just keep pumping money into it and wait to see how it turns out.

Of course! That's the ticket! Just abandon the field altogether, do nothing, remove any influence we might have and let the extremist's have a field day.
Influence?

No President, even this one, can foretell the future. If he's wrong, it won't be the first time we backed the losing the side.
Yup. We financed and trained the Taliban. How did that turn out?

Which countries has Obama invaded? You do know the meaning of that word, don't you?
Oh, the US doesn't have a history of invading and/or supporting the overthrow of governments?

Egypt will have to decide if they are an ally or not. Keep in mind, being an ally begets financial aid.
