If Iran is only 6 months away from having the capability to produce a weapon, why wait ?

The Obama administration has sanctions in place they say is working. If sanctions are working, why does Iran continue in haste ? Is there any doubt Iran would not provide our enemies the tools to explode a dirty bomb in NYC ?

Netanyahu steps up pressure over Iran - FT.com

Quote:
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, said on Sunday that Iran was only six or seven months away from having most of the fuel it needed to build a nuclear weapon, as he took his appeal for the US to take a tougher line against Iran directly to the American public.

Because it's a lie.

Iran has been 6 months away from building a nuclear weapon since 1984. If you don't believe that, then search the New York Times and other dailies that commented on the Jane's Defence Weekly claim....from 1984.

Why does Iran continue in haste to do what?

Why would Iran need provide those tools?

And specifically, what tools would be provided?

You don't even know what a dirty bomb is, and please don't insult forum members with some hack Pukipedia article. What kind of, you know, "nuke" is Iran supposedly building?

Isn't there even one person who can answer that question?

"....having most of the fuel it needed to build a nuclear weapon..."

Please explain what "most of the fuel" means, exactly, in no uncertain terms.

It's a nuclear weapon, not a recipe for an omelet where you can leave the green peppers out if you want. And what moron would refer to "fuel" when discussing nuclear weapons? The proper term is "fissile material." You only refer to "fuel" when discussing nuclear reactors -- which are not the same things as nuclear weapons.

These kinds of threads are truly disgusting, and how odd is it that they pop up every 6 months like clock-work.

Not amused...

Mircea

Six months or more is irrelevant, since according to you, they don't aim at developing nuclear weapons. All their effort is for a peaceful purpose.

Beacuse that alleged 6 months bears the same margin of error as a certain group of mythical WMDs?

Yes, there is considerable doubt about that.

As for our "enemies"; to quote the late Joseph Sobran:
Quote:
The first question you should ask about your enemy is why he is your enemy in the first place.

You may be deluding and flattering yourself if you assume he hates you for your virtues. But our “leaders” assure us that our enemies are unnaturally evil people who hate us only because we are so wonderful. And they manage to utter this nonsense with an air of tough-minded realism.

True realism, on the other hand, doesn’t mean blaming Americans for bringing these horrifying and truly evil acts on themselves. It does mean trying to imagine alien perspectives from which our government’s conduct might appear so intolerable that some people might be driven to take atrocious revenge.

“To understand all is to forgive all,” says the French aphorism. Not true. But understanding all can at least teach you how to avoid making enemies, and avoiding making enemies is the best defense — better than a $300 billion “defense” budget that didn’t defend the World Trade Center....

Your bitterest enemy may have his reasons for hating your guts. You may not think they are good or sufficient reasons, but you’d better take them into account. If he has any brains, he may find a way to hurt you.
The Unknown Enemy

Yes there is considerable doubt. Even if they had them countries don't just give away nuclear weapons, this is because nuclear weapons are deterrents giving them away means you give up power over it and once more if your weapon goes off in the wrong place, e.g. NYC, your country will probably end up as a sea of glass. Furthermore if anyone was going to sell a nuclear weapon to our enemies it would be the North Koreans. They are bat**** insane and have a proven track record of selling anything and everything to get hard currency.

On these matters Iran is straight forward.
Once they'll have the weapons, they will say so publicly, letting the world (as well as all Allah's enemies) know the power of Allah. They did so in the past with every new weapon they developed.
